Faedesfa is the continuation of a family story, reinterpreted by a new generation. Alberto Buratti grew up among his grandfather’s vines in the Colli Euganei and was
introduced early to low-intervention farming through his uncle at Azienda Agricola Farnea. Though his studies led him to Padova to study art history and later to Milano
for a Masters in art markets, the pull of the vineyard remained constant. In 2019, he returned to Rovolon to assume stewardship of his grandfather’s farm, beginning the
first vintage under his own direction.
The estate lies along a quiet northern slope beneath Monte della Madonna, where 3.2 hectares of vines—some approaching eighty years of age—are rooted in sedimentary
soils of white and red marl. While much of the Colli Euganei is defined by volcanic basalt, this parcel is distinct. The marl soils lend lift, tension, and mineral drive, shaping wines that are structured yet transparent. Farming is organic, guided by observation and restraint, and in the cellar Alberto works without additions. Fermentations are spontaneous, élevage is patient, and handling is kept to a minimum to preserve vitality and site expression.
Local varieties form the foundation of the work: Corbinello, Moscato Giallo, and Serprina—an ancient clone of Glera—alongside small plantings of Cabernet, Pinot Noir,
Chardonnay, and Glera. Each cuvée reflects both variety and vintage, but always with an emphasis on clarity over manipulation.
Curiosity continues to guide the project. Inspired by the traditions of cider and perry, Alberto has recently planted apples, quinces, and pears, exploring fermentations that move between orchard and vineyard. Like the wines, these experiments are rooted in agriculture first—patient, tactile, and shaped by season.
Faedesfa is not a departure from tradition, nor a nostalgic return. It is a measured evolution: a young grower honoring inheritance while steadily defining his own voice in the Colli Euganei.
